Heather Uren, soprano
Heather Uren is 18 years old and in her first year studying Music at Christ
Church, Oxford. She lives in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, and was a Music and
Academic Scholar at the King's School, Worcester. At school she studied singing
with Louise Horrocks, and in 2005 and achieved 145/150 in Grade 8, winning the
Associated Board silver medal. She also took part in two musicals: Guys and
Dolls and Me and My Girl. She is now studying singing with Susan
Young, and sings in the Christ Church College Choir. Heather is also an
accomplished flute player, pianist and 'cellist. In 2004 she became a member of
the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, and became co-principal 'cello in
2007. She is now principal 'cello of the Oxford University Orchestra and
Sinfonietta.
