Adam Tunnicliffe, tenor
After moving from Toronto in 1995, Canadian tenor Adam
Tunnicliffe studied at Wells Cathedral School and Christ
Church, Oxford, where he was a choral scholar. As a postgraduate he studied
performance at the Guildhall School of Music and
Drama. He continues to study singing with Russel Smythe and now has a varied
freelance career performing operas and oratorios. Operatic roles include
Ferrando in Mozart's Cosė fan tutte, Beppe in Donizetti's Rita,
Prince Phillipe in Lennox Berkeley's A Dinner Engagement as well as
Fracasso in Mozart's La Finta semplice, Don Pelagio in Haydn's La
Canterina, Chavalier in Rossini's Le Conte d'Ory, Enoch in Nancy
the Waterman by Stephen Dodgson, First Priest in Mozart's The Magic Flute
with British Youth Opera, and Lensky in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.
Adam will be playing the title role in Britten's Albert Herring in June
2008, and sings Artebantes in Arne's Artexerxes with New Chamber Opera in
July.
